Brother and sister raise over £17,000
for

Dion and Cara Evans raised a staggering £17,609 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit in Glangwili Hospital in loving memory of their mother.

The siblings organised a 75-mile bike ride last September followed by a day of walking from Aberystwyth to Aberaeron.

The challenge fell on the 10th anniversary of their mother’s passing away.

Dion said: “We can’t thank everyone that took part in this charity event enough. We are so, so grateful. 10 years ago, we lost our wonderful mother, that will be in our hearts forever. We did this in her memory.”

Jessica Halpin, Sister on the Chemotherapy Day Unit in Glangwili Hospital, said “We’d like to say thank to Dion and Cara, their family and friends as well as the whole of the local community who have so generously supported their fundraising.

“The Glangwili Hospital Chemotherapy Day Unit team is planning a number of charitable funded projects in 2022 and the generous donation received will make a significant contribution to plans the team have for improving the experience for patients.”
