Pembroke Dock businesses are being encouraged to get involved with the town’s first “Turn The Town Red” event in support of British Red Cross Week.
The British Red Cross Charity has had a busy few years with the pandemic and now Ukraine. To encourage the town to show solidarity and pull the community together, the Pembroke Dock Shop is inviting all to join in by putting something red in their windows from Friday 6th until Friday 13th May. This could be a red scarf, ribbon or balloon, As long as it’s something red!
Every year for as long as anyone can remember, May symbolises Red Cross Week, an important period when people up and down the country turn their thoughts to fundraising!
Some may shake a bucket, others will host tea parties and the odd few take on ridiculous challenges, all to help raise much needed funds. Sadly, events over the past 2 years have meant that none of us were unable to celebrate Red Cross Week leading to the shop’s decision to this year turn the town red for 2022!
Pembroke Dock British Red Cross Shop Manager Hannah Merrett said: “All of us in the local shop are very excited to see Pembroke Dock support the British Red Cross by turning their windows red.
“We’ve been in Pembroke Dock for many years and receive such amazing support from the local community through our amazing volunteers over the years, generous donations and loyal customers.”
