VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT FAST DEVELOPING ATTRACTION NEAR LLANELLI

The Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway is a 100% volunteer run charity developing a Heritage Centre and attraction near the town of Llanelli in South West Wales.  Already much has been achieved on the bare site of the old Cynheidre ‘Super Pit’ with a running line and storage facilities in place, visitor facilities including a heritage display and shop, plus pond and picnic area in the extensive grounds.   Open days and events are already taking place and have been greeted in a very positive way by visitors.   Now we need your help to take the LMMR to the next stage in its development as a major attraction for the local area.

We need more volunteers to help with every aspect of the lines development.  From gardening, painting & decorating, general DIY, through to helping to restore and operate the trains, running stalls and refreshment facilities at events and open days, and a whole raft of things that can be done from home.  It doesn’t matter if you have a few hours or a few days free every month – we need your help!

In exchange for your valuable time we can offer you fun and fulfilment through a new hobby, an opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills, some which might be beneficial to you in other aspects of your life plus a chance to make new connections and contribute to a real community project.   No prior experience is needed and you don’t even need to be interested in railways: there is so much more to our project!

Interested? Give us a call on 07956 082305 or email us on llanellirailway@gmail.com

A warm welcome awaits you.

The railway is a charity run totally by volunteers.  It is hoping to grow into a major tourist attraction for the Llanelli district and in order to reach our goals we need more volunteer help in all departments including operational, maintenance and restoration, and administration. If you could spare a few hours for what is a most enjoyable pastime and worthwhile cause do not hesitate to get in touch.  For more information or to volunteer please visit our website at https://www.llanellirailway.co.uk or Facebook page at www.facebook.com/llanellirailway
