Teaching assistant Carys Jones has raised more than £9,000 for the Bronglais Chemo Appeal with a 40-mile walk and a tractor run.
And she is hoping to reach £10,000 by holding a bingo evening with raffle at Tregaron Rugby Club on 2nd June at 7pm, to which everyone is welcome.
Carys and more than 20 family and friends – including brother Aled Jones, sister Gwenan Hodgson and twin sister Caryl Jones – walked 40 miles in 24 hours from the rugby club to Bronglais Hospital and back.
“Our mum, Glenys, is currently having chemotherapy and she says the staff are brilliant,” said Carys. “We are so lucky to have the unit close to us and to have a purpose-built new unit with more privacy will be even better.
“The walk went really well. We had so much support for which we as a family are very grateful. Mum was over the moon.
“Our uncle Rhydian Lloyd also organised a tractor run from the rugby club on a 14-mile rural route back to the club to boost the fundraising, which attracted more than 30 tractors.”

The Bronglais Chemo Appeal aims to raise the final £500,000 needed for construction to start on a new, purpose-built chemotherapy day unit for Bronglais Hospital, to greatly improve the patient experience.
