Taking the crown for the top gay bar in the UK is Mary’s, serving up the best queer parties with a dazzling gay cabaret bar on St Mary’s Street, Cardiff. Mary’s is famous for its friendly atmosphere, fabulous cocktails, extensive range of premium gins and outrageous live cabaret.
What may be the glammest gay bar in town, The Viaduct in Leeds takes our second spot. Located in the heart of Leed’s LGBTQ+ scene, the bar has the highest score for public transport (no one wants to walk round the city centre after a fer gin and tonics), and boasts 9.6k followers on Instagram.
Coming in a close third was London’s The Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Taking the lead as the most Instagrammable UK gay bar with over 9k hashtags, as well as the most followers with over 20.8k. The Cock Tavern, complete with a Georgian Tiki vibe, hosts weekly club nights and cabaret drag acts.
