National Insurance Awareness Day is June 28th of this year. A recent Zelros survey of over 1,000 showed some interesting trends about the state of insurance – here’s what they learned:

  • 57% of people believe insurance coverage in general is too expensive.
  • 62% of people feel they pay too much for their current insurance coverage, and only 38% believe their policy is fairly priced.
  • 67% of people currently have health insurance.
  • For purchasing insurance, 53% of people want an insurance agent or hybrid agent/digital insurance experience, whereas 47% want to do everything online without the help of an agent.
  • 71% of people will pay more for their insurance policies if their insurance company was committed to responsible technology, sustainability and diversity.

Insurance has changed a lot even over the past few years. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are playing a bigger role than ever now. So what exactly has changed in the insurance industry and what actions do policyholders need to take?

Insurance tech provider Zelros wants you to be informed when it comes to selecting an insurance policy. Zelros CEO Christophe Bourguignat says, “Thanks to how technology and AI is being used in the insurance industry, insurance companies can now proactively update risk categories more quickly than ever, to better match each and every personal situation meaning your policy needs have likely changed.”
