Dear Editor,
We are inviting people in Wales to raise vital funds for Diabetes UK this summer.
The One Million Step Challenge runs from 1 July to 30 September and is ideal for anyone looking for a way to get more active. You take one million steps over the course of three months – around 10,000 steps per day – and get sponsored for every stride.
There’s also the half a million step challenge, ideal for anyone who may find taking 10,000 steps a day difficult, or the longer 1.7 million step version for those who really want a challenge.
You do not have to limit yourself to walking to complete the challenge. You could choose to jog, or even dance the steps away. But whichever way you choose to move, you will need to take around 10,000 steps a day from 1 July to reach your one million step goal.
You can take on the challenge alone, or better still, get your family, friends and colleagues involved – it’s a wonderful way to get active this summer while raising vital funds for Diabetes UK along the way.
How you complete your steps is up to you. The money you raise while you do it will fund our fight for a world where diabetes can do no harm.
You can sign up for the One Million Step Challenge at step.diabetes.org.
Thank you,
Rachel Burr, National Director, Diabetes UK Cymru
