The Princess Royal is, by far, the most hardworking member of the British royal family this summer, based on the number of public engagements she has planned for July. Another five royals have official visits planned for next month, while the rest, including the heirs to the throne and their spouses, are taking a long break this summer.
According to AskGamblers, who analysed all the events that the Windsors have planned for next month, the Princess Royal will be paying 36 visits in July, which averages to more than one visit per day.
Her first public engagement is on July 1st, in Dover, Kent, where she will attend The Duke of York’s Royal Military School for the Grand Day parade. The Princess Royal’s month is packed with events, often three in one day at various locations. She ends her month-long marathon on July 29th in Warwickshire, where she will attend the Game Fair at Ragley Hall in Alcester.
With 24 combined visits next month, the most hardworking royal couple are the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. The two will have joint visits twice in July: once on the 6th for the Platinum Jubilee concert at St Albans Cathedral, and again on the 29th, at the Annual Treasurer’s Reception in London. Separately, Prince Richard has 13 public engagements next month, whereas the Duchess of Gloucester has nine.
The Earl of Wessex is the fourth most hardworking royal, with nine visits planned for July, kicking off with a trip to Edinburgh on July 1st. The very same day, he will make his way back to England, joining his spouse, the Countess of Wessex, for a relaxing dinner at the Guards Polo Club in Egham. Sophie has only one other engagement a week later in London and she is free of any public events for the rest of the month.
The fifth most hardworking member of the British royal family is Princess Alexandra. The Queen’s cousin has five official engagements in July. Most of them are in London, except for her visit to Shrewsbury on July 30th.
None of the other royals have any events announced for the whole of July. This includes The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the Queen.
A spokesperson for AskGamblers commented: “The Princess Royal has a reputation for being exceptionally hard working and summertime is no exception. Her Royal Highness’ busy calendar sees her working 21 days throughout the whole of July, the same as any a full-time employee in the UK.
“We know that the Queen likes spending time at Balmoral Castle in August, so we do wonder what Her Majesty, Prince Charles, Prince William and their families are up to in the meantime.”
