Further to the appointment of Mark Rowley as MET Commissioner, can I send this comment by Nigel Cawthorne, author of Virginia Giuffre: The Extraordinary Life of Maxwell and Epstein’s Playtoy:
- “Sir Mark Rowley said at a 2021 MET review that Virginia Giuffre’s complaint of having been trafficked by Ghislaine Maxwell to London in March 2001 would be investigated if there was ‘new evidence’. The new evidence is that we now know that Giuffre was a victim of Maxwell’s. She was allowed to give a victim impact statement at the sentencing of Maxwell to 20 years. The MET must now urgently reopen the case and interview everyone with knowledge of Maxwell, Epstein and Giuffre that day in the same way it is investigation UK crimes committed by Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey.”
