Liverpool-based venture builder, Nova, has announced a £195k investment into Trialwell – an online digital platform that allows for quick and easy access to clinical trials completely free of charge.

The startup will allow the general public to easily discover and enrol in a variety of clinical trials. Users can take charge of their own health and wellbeing, while supporting the further development of new treatments and preventative strategies for all.

Using AI technology, Trialwell matches users’ health profile’s to upcoming clinical trials and resources best suited to their personal health profile and wellbeing goals.

Laura Holland, Trialwell Founder

Laura Holland, doctor of integrative medicine, social impact entrepreneur and Trialwell founder, pitched her concept to the Nova investment panel earlier this year. She won them over with her dedication to empower individuals, and her commitment to making clinical trials and research more accessible.

Speaking to Laura, she commented “I’m thrilled to have achieved investment into Trialwell from Nova Growth Capital and excited to grow our journey together. After working in the industry for many years, one of the main challenges we face is a significant lack of awareness about clinical trials and their potential to be a source of help. Especially trials studying natural treatments and preventative medicines, which could be beneficial for so many of us.

We need to democratise access to clinical trials as well as the latest science-based health advice. We’re aiming to improve the health and wellbeing of millions around the globe. We’re here to support everyone through their health and wellbeing journey.”

On Nova’s investment into Trialwell, Nova’s Chief Growth Officer, Olivia Greenberg, who is part of the investment committee at the venture builder, commented “We are delighted to welcome Laura and the Trialwell team onboard. Laura’s passion and commitment for helping people’s health and wellbeing is what led us to invest in this startup. We firmly believe that this venture will positively impact the health and wellbeing of many. This is something that we at Nova, are excited to be part of.”

Nova Growth Capital’s investment not only includes capital but the expertise of the venture building team which will be deployed to build and market the platform. The founder at Trialwell now has access to Nova’s product developers, marketing team, videographers, business mentors and much more.
