Thanks to donations, Hywel Dda Health Charities has purchased more than £6,500 worth of new furniture for Bronglais Hospital’s Y Banwy Ward, which is currently the designated area for treating COVID-19 patients.

The furniture for patients includes six high-back chairs, six lockable bedside cabinets and 18 tables for use over a bed or a chair.

Nurse Manager Simone Brandy said: “We have 12 single rooms on the ward and having this

new furniture has made such a difference for patients – with a range of different chairs to suit all patients; better tables and lockers with more room for patient belongings.

“We are so grateful for the donations which has made it possible to get these extra comforts.”

Pictured with some of the new furniture is Health Care Support Worker Kiera Hutchinson.
