Leading commercial cleaning company Mrs Buckét has celebrated the hard work and dedication of its 300-strong team with the return of its annual ‘Top of the Mops’ awards.

The firm has presented 45 of its staff with an award for the part they have played in the company’s most successful year to date.

The awards aim to recognise employees who have gone above and beyond for the firm’s 100+ client base. Spread across 15 categories, some celebrate staff who consistently demonstrate Mrs Buckét’s five key values, others acknowledge staff for their outstanding customer service, long service, as well as best newcomer. Following an independent audit, awards for ‘best cleaned premises’ have also been presented, including ‘loo of the year’, which went to the team at Wales Millennium Centre.

Yvette Wilkins, Operations Director, who sat on the judging panel, said: “We launched Top of the Mops for the first time in 2021 and it was a massive success, so we were keen to do it again and give recognition to our entire team, who have worked incredibly hard and truly gone above and beyond for our clients every minute of every day. We want to recognise and reward their incredible grit and determination.

“A big thank you also has to go out to our clients who went the extra mile to help us surprise our winners with their awards while they were on shift and helped make it a really special few days.

“As life returns to the new normal post-Covid-19, we have seen an increase in demand across multiple sectors to deliver high-quality, in-depth cleaning more frequently, and as a company we’re looking forward to taking this hard-working team with us on the journey.”

Speaking about their win, Lee Bullock, who took home the award for most passionate colleague, said: “It’s so refreshing to be part of a company that really values its staff the way that Mrs Buckét does. It’s been a tough few years for everyone but we really pulled together through the pandemic, and so to be recognised in this way for our service means a lot.

“I feel that this award belongs to everyone in the team, not just myself, as we’ve all worked so closely together and none of the great work we do would be possible without those around me.”

As part of its goal to become one of the foremost employers in the cleaning and facilities management industry, the firm was also recently certified by the Living Wage Foundation as an accredited Living Wage Employer. This certification demonstrates Mrs Buckét’s commitment to paying its staff in line with rates set by the Living Wage Foundation, the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid and based on meeting UK living costs.

The company also appointed Kate Ablett as Head of People earlier this year, with her remit including the creation of a new People Strategy to help the business evolve into a forward-thinking, people-centred organisation.

Mrs Buckét is a high-quality commercial cleaning and facilities management company. Established by Rachael Flanagan in 2005, the business has grown to have 330 employees operating across south Wales and south west England.
