‘Halloween Ends’: Halloween voted best horror franchise of all time, following release of new trailer

  • ‘Halloween’ has been crowned as the public’s all-time favourite horror franchise according to a new poll, as Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role for its final instalment, ‘Halloween Ends.’

Comparison site JohnSlots used a Ranker poll to look at the best horror franchises of all time according to the public and found that ‘Halloween’ comes out on top with 3,777 votes. 

The horror franchise which saw masked serial killer Michael Myers make his debut appearance in 1978, has spawned a series of 13 sequels and reboots, with the final instalment ‘Halloween Ends,’ set to be released on 14th October, later this year.  

The franchise has seen nine different directors take on the cult classic, the most recent of whom is David Gordon Green, who has directed the last two films and is returning to direct the concluding ‘Halloween Ends.’ 

Following closely behind, ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ ranked as the second most loved horror franchise with 3,684 votes. 

‘Friday the 13th’ was voted the third best horror franchise with 3,487 votes. 

The ‘Scream’ and ‘Saw’ franchises took the fourth and fifth spots with 3,155 and 2,785 votes each respectively.
