Back with a bang, The Green Gathering returns to celebrate its 10th Birthday at ‘enchanted’ Piercefield Park, near Chepstow.  The festival takes place from 4th – 7th August, welcoming festival-goers with a spectacular programme to delight the senses and fire the imagination.

Completing this year’s line up of music and cabaret, The Green Gathering welcomes festival favourites, Kangaroo Moon and Hattie Hatstar, and appearing for the first time at the event, The Balkaneers, Dave Onions and Sophie Crabtree, with Meera Patel & Parbati Chaudhury introducing audiences to the ancient Northern Indian art of Kathak dance.

Our programme of speakers promises fascinating talks by experts and activists including Molly Scott Cato, Green Party economist and former MEP and Guardian journalists, Patrick Greenfield and Phoebe Weston.

For curious kids, some of the activities to be found in our dedicated Kids Area are music, drama, circus skills, science experiments, willow weaving, baby and toddler yoga, hula hooping and face painting.

Nourishment for bellies will be provided by Lalita’s – authentic South Indian cuisine, Ice Green – vegan ice cream made in Wales, gourmet sourdough toasties by Mr. Croquewich, Chai Shop Organic, serving classic chai and the best veggie breakfasts, plus the Tiny Tea Tent, Pancake Paradise, Sunshine Pizza, Collins Coffee and many more.

And for visitors who’d like to try some movement-based activity, why not have a go at Afro-Brazilian martial art, Capoiera, flamenco or hip-hop dancing.

The Craft Area – nestled in a shady dell, our craft artists/makers will be providing instruction and inspiration in crafts including metalwork, woodwork and textiles.  We also have many lovely ethical traders – the makers who craft their own wares, the upcyclers, the people who really care about where their materials come from.

Take a turn round our tranquil Permaculture Garden or visit the Healing Area for some TLC.

In our spacious Hill Village, festival-goers will find makers, nomads and elders of the festival circuit – folk who live alternative lifestyles all year round and characters with many a yarn to tell.  There’s rocket stove making, tool refurbishment, herbal remedies and wood-fired showers.  Soak up the practical know-how and advice on ‘One Planet Development’ and off-grid living from the wise folk of our Green Gathering community.

“We offer portals to alternative dimensions for new generations”.
