Some people will argue that certain things are just better done in person. What about purchasing insurance? The results of this survey might just surprise you of what age group represents the most of those who want an online experience. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the youngest group.
Zelros recently surveyed over 1000 people and found that 70% of people said that they would prefer either a completely online or hybrid experience when purchasing insurance.
Notable Discrepancies
- Nearly 1 in 2 people would prefer a digital only insurance experience.
- Over half of 25-34 year-olds said they would want a digital insurance experience only.
- Nearly 1 in 3 people would still prefer to have a face to face experience with an agent.
Breaking this down further, when considering purchasing insurance, 46.9% of people indicate that they would prefer a digital experience and would not need help from an agent. Nearly a third of the respondents at 30.1% say they would like a physical experience with an agent to provide personalized policy recommendations. The least picked response at 23.0% was of those who would prefer a hybrid experience, combining the digital experience with the option to speak to an agent if they require more personalized recommendations.
When breaking it down by age, the results are a bit interesting. 44.5% of 18-24 year-olds, 55.5% of 25-34 year-olds, 50% of 35-44 year-olds and 49% of 45-54 year-olds surveyed said that they would prefer a digital experience, with everything done online. 39.5% of >54 year-olds would prefer a physical experience with an agent to suggest and provide personalized recommendations.
