Two men from Liverpool have been sentenced as part of a proactive investigation which concentrated on identifying upstream suppliers responsible to distributing drugs to the south-west regions, including Swansea.
The younger brother, Scott Foote, played a leading role in the Organised Crime Gang (OCG) which operated in the Liverpool area.
Scott’s older brother, Simon Foote, distributed the drugs around the country.
The OCG is responsible for manufacturing and selling of multi kilograms of cocaine and heroin, the investigation alone seized drugs with a street value of more than £1.5 million.
Simon Foote, aged 32 from Tuebrook, was jailed for five years and four months at Newport Crown Court this morning (Tuesday July 25) after pleading not guilty to possession with intent to supply and conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin).
Scott Foote, aged 27 from Anfield, was jailed for 11 years and three months at Newport Crown Court this morning (Tuesday July 25) after pleading not guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin).
Detective Constable Sean Meyrick, of Tarian, said: “The operation resulted in over 15kgs Class A drugs never reaching our streets, which could have netted the OCG in excess of £1.5 million. Officers also recovered a viable Taser device and an imitation firearm.
“The scale of this operation was significant, with investigating officers disrupting wholesale adulteration processes, and it is pleasing to know that the Foote brothers are now behind bars and unable to continue profiting from the misery their trade brings to our communities.
“We will continue to pursue and disrupt any criminal gangs intent on distributing controlled drugs within our region and I urge any members of the public with any information to contact their local police or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
