Lottie can reveal that the best area for afternoon tea is Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, with an impressive final score of 9.08 out of 10. Afternoon tea in the Lakes tourist hotspot is easy to find as it scores a perfect 10/10 in this category, whilst also securing high scores for its fair prices (8.75/10), and ratings (8.50/10). 

In second place is Derbyshire town Belper, as it secures a final score of 8.36 out of 10. Although only 58% of Belper’s cafés serve afternoon tea (scoring 5.88/10), visitors can expect a quality experience for a reasonable price – boasting high scores for both its ratings (9.30/10), and prices (9.90/10).

Totnes, located in South Devon comes in third as it scores 8.33 out of 10 for its afternoon tea. Not only can visitors explore local attractions within this historical town, but also delve into its afternoon tea hotspots with over 90% of the cafés serving this British tradition.

London ranks second among the worst areas for afternoon tea in the UK with a final score of 3.55 out of 10. Not only does London have a low % of cafés offering afternoon tea (scoring 2.10/10), it also scores poorly for prices (0.42/10).
