Dear Editor,

Hitherto, the tallest land-based wind turbines in Wales have been around 400 feet high from ground to  tip of blade. Such a machine has blades around 150 feet long, hence the rotor diameter is around 300 feet. So the “swept area ” of the blades is pi x radius squared or  70,714 square feet.

Now the latest wind turbines proposed in Wales……20 at Moelfre Uchaf, Betws-yn-Rhos, Colwyn Bay ,in the north and 21 at Bryn Wind Farm, Bryn, Maesteg in the south……..are a gargantuan  820 feet to blade tip . So , with 260 ft blades , their swept area will be  212,457 sq feet.

So, a 820ft wind turbine just over double the height of a 400 ft machine will  have TREBLE the “swept area”  or turning circle !

Therefore,  the noise, vibrations , infra-sound  etc emanating from these gargantuan wind turbines with very broad ,heavy blades, will be FAR, FAR worse than anything experienced  IN THE WORLD, so far ! I cannot find 820 ft wind turbines anywhere globally  ,near habitations . People within 7 miles will become very ill !!

If readers click the Australian web-site   StopTheseThings.com /experience , they will read the harrowing tales of  Australian sufferers. Those Oz wind turbines are below 400 ft in height.  So…BEWARE  what is being inflicted on Wales.

The Welsh people are mere guinea pigs to innumerate, non-technical , green-mad politicians who certainly won’t have ANY wind turbines near their own homes!

The biggest ……and latest….destroyer of Wales and its unspoilt hills ,is Bute Energy…..who have at least two Labour politicians and a Pembrokeshire County Councillor on the pay-roll !!

What a total disgrace !!  These monstrosities must be stopped !! They do not even produce any electricity under High Pressure fine weather….or in storms !!

Yours angrily,
