Autumn travel: Exploring which of 2022’s trending holiday destinations are the most sustainable

The mindset of travellers is changing and sustainable travel has become a growing trend amongst people who want to lessen the environmental impact of their holiday.  

For those looking to book a holiday for the upcoming autumn months, DiscoverCars.com has therefore explored a number of ranking factors in order to discover which of 2022’s trending holiday destinations are the most sustainable. 

For each location, they highlighted information such as the closest airport, its impact on the climate and the number of nature spots the destination has. DiscoverCars.com took these factors into account and assigned each location a number out of 100 and ranked the destinations accordingly.

The top five most sustainable holiday destinations were:

  1. Rhodes, Greece (67 points out of 100 points)
  2. Ibiza, Spain (64 out of 100 points)
  3. Majorca, Spain (63 out of 100 points)
  4. Santorini, Greece (63 out of 100 points)
  5. Dubrovnik, Croatia (60 out of 100 points)
