On January 25th 2022 was the last day I was to see the cross. The cross was lost at sea after I became trapped in a bay after the tide had come in. I started climbing the cliff face and about half way up I lost the grip of the cross and it slipped all the way into the sea. The bay was by broughton blue pool.
#thefamilyfightthecrosswebear.
The cross had completed the Welsh 3 peaks twice approx 6 journeys up Pen Y Fan the 3 peaks at Pen Y Fan almost 500 miles of the welsh coastal path 3 times around the Gower Peninsula. On the cross parents names who are going through contact denial where children’s are the collateral damage in separation I am the founder of NAAP and DADS. We also have a tree with childrens first names.
The cross is always on the walks and climbs the symbol of the fight many have. When I lost the cross I was feeling pretty bad even though tried to make a joke of it.
“Oh well thats the cross on its way to france. Then much to my suprise saturday the 20th of August I opened my messenger Amanda Evans messaged me to say found your cross.
No way did I ever think I would see it again.
It was thanks to a photographer Ryan Milsom who had posted a picture of the crossed washed up on a beach near Pembrey.
I was so excited and couldn’t wait to go and be reunited with the cross. I dropped everything and headed off Amanda set up a messenger group Ryan Amanda and myself.
We all met up and headed down to where the cross was last and Wow there was someone had buried it standing up decorated with a few other drift items.
I cant thank Amanda and Ryan enough.
The cross has been broken repaired and strengthened it has travelled many miles it has been lost at sea now reunited.
Amazing.
Many parents had put their names on leaves on the cross.
