From Klopp to Moyes, which manager attracts the most attention globally?
As the Premier League is back in full swing, new data has revealed which manager attracts the most attention, in not only the UK, but across the world.
Sports experts at Jeffbet.com used Google search data to find out which of this season’s Premier League managers attract the most attention from internet users around the world.
To find out how the managers rank across the pond, the study also analysed both UK and US data, as a way to compare any differences.

First place for Pep Guardiola
According to our data, Pep Guardiola is the world’s most popular manager with a staggering 843,000 internet searches each month on average. Guardiola has been at Manchester City since 2016, when won his first Manchester derby and achieved his sixth win against rival manager José Mourinho.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Antonio Conte is next on the list with 530,000 monthly searches. 110,000 of these come from the UK, while 82,000 come from Italy, where Conte was born.
In third place we see Manchester United’s newest manager Eric Ten Hag with 495,000 searches. This will be his first season as manager at the club, with fans hopeful he’ll lead the team to victory.
Former Liverpool star, Steven Gerrard, who now manages Aston Villa, also made the top 10 with 491,000 monthly searches, followed by Liverpool icon Jurgen Klopp with 394,000.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel comes further down the list with 365,000, followed by former Chelsea player, Frank Lampard, who has now settled in as Everton’s manager.
Another former Premier League player also ranks in the top 10, this time it’s Patrick Vieira who made his debut at Arsenal back in 1996. He now manages Crystal Palace, receiving 216,000 global searches each month.
Ninth and tenth place goes to Mikel Arteta from Arsenal with 209,000 searches, and Eddie Howe from Newcastle United who gets 160,000 searches on average.
Steven Gerrard is the most popular manager in the UK
Looking at the UK specifically, things are slightly different, with Steven Gerrard taking the top spot with 175,000 searches. Everton’s Frank Lampard comes in second place (114,000), followed by Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola who takes third place in the UK.
Klopp is the sixth most popular manager in the UK, with 100,000 searches each month, making up a quarter of his total global searches overall.
Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch makes the UK’s top 10 list with 49,000 searches, however, didn’t quite make it onto the global list.

Which managers are most popular in the USA?
While America’s favourites are fairly similar to the rest of the world, with Guardiola and Conte taking the top spots, Steven Gerrard receives slightly more searches than Erik Ten Hag in the US, landing him in third place.
Jesse Marsch is also popular in America, despite not making the global top 10. He receives 24,000 monthly searches from the states on average. Marsch is originally from Wisconsin and played 14 seasons as a midfielder in the MLS (Major League Soccer).

The managers who didn’t make the cut
When considering the least popular managers, search data shows Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttel sits at the bottom of the table with 6,900 global monthly searches on average.
Bournemouth’s Scott Parker sits above him, however, still receives 44,000 searches globally, in line with Nottingham Forest’s Stee Cooper with 54,000 searches.
Marco Silva and Graham Potter are also in the bottom five, with Pep Guardiola receiving more than 12 times more searches each month.
