Web3.0 technologies are quickly entering the music space, and more brands are looking for ways to implement this new approach to community building, customer engagement, and of course, revenue. The question is, how? Let’s look at some current best practices to consider.

XONE is a mobile Augmented Reality social network developed by CEO & Co-Founder James Shannon, that allows users to build and share 3D worlds. XONE’s vision is to become the web3 version of TikTok, focusing on user-friendly interfaces, discovery, and music to onboard the next 100 million users into web3.

Onboarding audiences into web3 is very similar to web2 strategies. You have a story, a product, a call to action, and on-going engagement. The biggest difference is that in web2 you are creating awareness where fans spend their time already like Instagram, Youtube, etc. In web3 you are pulling fans into new worlds and platforms they might not be familiar with. This has been the core challenge thus far with onboarding audiences. To solve it we must focus on three key areas,” says James Shannon, CEO & Co-Founder.

Here are James Shannon’s three key areas for brands and musicians to focus on when onboarding audiences into web3

Focus #1: Usability
The web3 platform must be just as easy or easier to use than existing platforms where audiences spend their time. In the case of XONE we are making the product look like TikTok or Instagram so it’s familiar.

Focus #2: Incentive
In order to incentivize the audience to make the jump into a new platform you must offer them something. We believe that something is the ability to earn money through cryptocurrencies or NFT ownership. “Download this app and earn money” is a powerful statement.

Focus #3: Lead with Web2 features
Don’t try and do everything at once because it will be too complicated. Focus on getting fans into a platform with features they know and understand. Only when they are comfortable, can you introduce web 3 elements like crypto and NFTS.
