Mumbles Rangers 4 – Port Tennant Colts. 1
Mumbles Rangers coasted through to the next round of the FAW Trophy with a comfortable win at their temporary new home ground at Swansea University Sports Centre.
The vast pitch suited Rangers passing game.
The game was watched by a healthy attendance of over 200 people in the Stand.
Rangers were two nil up in the first twenty minutes of the game with their goals coming from Aled James and Taylor Smith.
The best goal of the game came in the 46th minute when the ball was cleared out by Port Tennant towards the half way line where Rangers midfielder Sam Evans was on hand to take aim from all of 30 yards out and thundered his shot into the roof of the Colts net despite the finger tips effort of the Colts goalkeeper to keep it out.
Deep into stoppage time of the first half the Colts did get a goal back when Rangers Taylor Smith got a touch to score an unfortunate own goal.
Half Time 3-1
Rangers dominance continued in the second half despite the Colts best efforts to get back in the game.
Rangers Aled James wrapped the game up in the 77th minute when he scored his second goal of the game. A good night all round for Rangers and their support who now progress to the next round.
