National competition launched to find UK’s most loved office dog

People across the UK are sharing adorable pictures of dogs working in their office, with images showing dogs spreading joy, following the dress code and attending meetings.

It’s part of a national competition launched to find the UK’s most loved office dog by office furniture suppliers, Furniture At Work, with the winner receiving a £200 Amazon voucher.

The competition ends at noon on September 8th at 12pm (UK time) and people can enter here.

Searches for dog-friendly offices almost doubled in the last half of 2021 and have continued to rise in 2022, with people making furry four-legged colleagues a priority when looking for a new job. So, it’s no surprise to us that entrees have been coming in fast. Here are some of the best so far:

1.     Sven, Golden Retriever, 1

Sven was only a couple of months old when this was taken. Even at a young age he understands it’s important to stay pawfessional, wearing a smart striped tie on his first day in the office.

2.     Goose, Cocker X Colley, 18 months

This is Goose, he is the Chief Operations Pawficer (COP) in his office. He is always on hand to help his team out and accepts belly scratches and dog treats for his time.

3.     Coco, Dachshund, 9

Coco is a geriatric princess, she’s iconic, she’s the moment. Coco is a gentle soul who works hard to keep the finance department away. You will find her sitting on her favourite red blanket, ready to help her colleagues in any way she can.

4.     Louis, Dachshund, 3

Louis is always on hand to make sure no one is having a ruff day. He regularly attends team meetings, although his suggestions mostly involve food and long walks.

5.     Gary, Cockapoo, 3

Gary joined his office two years ago. He has been described as the sweetest dog you will ever meet and rushes over to everyone’s desk to see them when they first arrive. Every office needs a well-behaved dog like Gary.

A spokesperson from Furniture At Work commented:

“It’s no surprise office dogs are becoming more common in offices post pandemic, spending time with our furry, four legged colleagues can improve moral and encourage bonding. We have asked people in offices around the UK to send in pictures of their dogs, so we can crown one the most loved in the UK! We have had so many great entrees so far, and there is plenty of time to get involved and share your images, we can’t wait to see them!”
