The Best Artists to listen to whilst Working out, revealed

New study reveals Tiësto is the most popular artist to listen to whilst working out in the US.  

The research conducted by fitness experts Fitness Volt analyzed 5,440 songs from Spotify’s most popular workout playlists to determine the artists who feature the most. 

Tiësto places as the most popular artist. Out of the songs analysed, Tiësto featured 51 times with common songs, including Hot In It and The Motto. 

Coming in second is rap artist Drake who featured 49 times in the analysis with songs such as Massive and Chicago Freestyle. 

David Guetta ranks as the third most popular artist in the US for your workout, featuring 41 times in Spotify’s workout playlists.  

Placing fourth is Joel Corry who has featured 30 times. The most common songs include ‘What would you do’ popping up eight times and OUT OUT (feat. Charli XCX & Saweetie. 

Ranking as the fifth most popular artist in US workout playlists is Alesso. The most common song featured is Words (feat. Zara Larsson). 

Jack Harlow ranks sixth. His song Dua Lipa has featured six times whilst WHATS POPPIN (feat. DaBaby, Tory Lanez & Lil Wayne) – remix, also featured six times. Having only come onto the scene in 2020, Harlow has made a strong impact on the music world.  

Lil Baby comes in seventh, appearing 25 times in the workout playlists. Popular songs include Detox and Right On. 

In joint eighth are Swedish House Mafia and DaBaby, who both feature 24 times across the playlists. 

Armin van Buuren is the ninth with 22 features. The most common songs included One More Time and No Fun. 

Alok places tenth, featuring 21 times across Spotify’s most popular workout playlists. 

A spokesperson for Fitness Volt commented on the findings:  

“Music plays a vital part in many people’s workout regime with studies having shown it helps to distract from pain, elevates mood and increases stamina. The similarities between the most played artists reveals that there are certain genres and artists that are particularly popular to accompany exercise.  

“The study shows which artists people choose to listen to for their workout, crowning rappers, DJs and electro musicians the most favoured.”
