Production company Tiger House S.A. Casa Productora has got the golden ticket as it has acquired the rights of novelist Neboysha Saikovski’s book “Pink Panthers: The Greatest Thieves”. The deal means the company will own creations based on a true story of the most notorious diamond robbers in history – the Pink Panthers, reports RTV BN. The production company will control what happens to them in TV and film – and will also create numerous spin-off projects.

In a statement to BN Television, Neboysha Saikovski said they were “joining forces to bring some of the world’s most unbelievable true stories, of the Infamous Pink Panthers Gang of Diamond Thieves, to current and future fans in creative new ways in a form of TV series”.

After hundreds of heists with loot amounting close to $US1 billion, the elusive shadowy network of brazen robbers known as the Pink Panthers terrorised the global jewellery industry, committing outrageous crimes fitting a Hollywood movie script, targeting the world’s most luxurious jewellery stores. By personalising the functioning of criminal cartels, the horror of war, the dissolving of country and family, and showing the results of these bold events have on individuals was the general theme the author tried to dive into with this novel. Humanising and both warmly and humorously portraying its main characters, without relieving them from responsibility, the novel offers an analytical portrait of people who had different plans for life and their future, which failed due to wars, a devastated economy, corruption, nepotism, and societal moral collapse. This novel is the first part of a trilogy that deals with the socio-historical context of the emergence of the famous and powerful international robber group, Pink Panthers, created in the whirlwind of war during the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia. The background story shows the entire process of the diamond business, how diamonds come to jewellery stores, from relentless exploitation of rich deposits of poor third-world countries and inciting bloody civil wars in them, to intertwining of the diamond business with drug cartels, human trafficking, interests of banks, corporate and military-industrial magnates and diplomatic-political machinations.

“This approach injects a blend of psychological suspense and insight that enlightens readers on not just their modus operandi, but their underlying motivations and the personal revelations of its members. The methods and the madness of the Panthers’ activities permeate an international romp that closely examines all facets of organized crime on a broader scale than most novels offer. Somewhere within the guise of the intersection between fiction and nonfiction exists a rare opportunity for enlightenment,” a Midwest book review stated.

The BookViral review said, “High-stake heists have become a relatively common theme for thrillers, but few are as memorable as Pink Panthers. A riveting read with Saikovski masterfully fusing fact with fiction to bring an edgy sense of authenticity to his tale. With a rich, dark, plot of entanglements that fulfils all the requirements of the genre, it’s clever, fast-paced, and inventive, the action evolving in tightly focused scenes, played out across a gamut of International locations.”
