Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is officially taking place on Friday 30th September and is the charity’s biggest fundraising event, with the aim to improve the lives of people and families affected by cancer.

Lovell popped on the kettle for its employees and hosted coffee mornings at its head office in Cardiff, Chartist Garden Village in Pontllanfraith, Elderwood Parc in Portskewett, The Mill in Cardiff, Royal Victoria Court and Locke Gardens, both in Newport.

As part of the events, the teams at Lovell sat down for well-deserved breaks with coffee and cake, and had the chance to pause and bond with fellow contractors.

In total, Lovell hosted nine coffee mornings across both South Wales and the South West, and in response has donated £800, to help fund Macmillan’s important work.

Lovell subcontractors who attended the events also donated themselves, including bricklayer Ronny Kynes at Elderwood Parc who donated a further £100.

Gemma Clissett, regional partnerships director at Lovell, said: “We are thrilled to have donated £800 to Macmillan, after taking part in their wonderful coffee morning fundraiser.

“Macmillan is an incredible charity that has helped countless people dealing with cancer, from supporting them through treatment to offering financial aid. We hope that our contribution provides a helping hand, and allows Macmillan to reach many more people.

“These coffee mornings are a brilliant way to raise money and awareness of the vital work Macmillan does, and provided our teams with the opportunity to support each other, by discussing signs of cancer and by helping those who have dealt with cancer in their families.

“At Lovell we strive to support our colleagues’ wellbeing as much as possible, and we hope that everyone had a lovely time at their coffee mornings.”
