- HEINEKEN SmartDispense™ is on the hunt for SEVEN Green Pub Testers
- Pub enthusiasts invited to review eco-friendly spots across the country – and get paid for it!
- No prior experience needed, just a passion for the Great British pub and an interest in sustainability
HEINEKEN SmartDispense™ has today announced it has opened applications for what could be considered the best job in the world* – Green Pub Tester. Responsibilities will include sampling food and drink at some of the country’s greenest pubs; and they’re on the hunt for seven of them!
The new and coveted role follows the launch of the very first Green Pub Guide powered by SmartDispense™ at the beginning of August, which champions pubs across the country who are putting sustainability at the heart of what they do. The guide features 55 pubs from all corners of Great Britain, including The Green Man run by Great British Bake Off (GBBO) winner Candice Brown, and celebrates green initiatives such as reducing day-to-day energy consumption, zero-waste menus and using reclaimed materials for building renovations – all with a more sustainable future in mind.
Green Pub Tester duties will include visiting pubs listed in the Green Pub Guide in their region, and soaking up their eco-credentials, food and drink offerings, service, and overall atmosphere. They will then share their experiences in a short video, which will be featured on HEINEKEN’S owned channels to encourage more people to visit these green spots. The Green Pub Testers will need to be situated in specific regions across Great Britain: London and South East, South West, East Anglia and East Midlands, Wales and West Midlands, North East, North West and Scotland, and entries must be submitted by 11.59pm on SUNDAY 16TH OCTOBER 2022.
Of course, the seven lucky people will get their expenses covered and a £500 bonus will be awarded to each of them following the successful completion of their assignments. It’s not just the appointed individuals who will benefit though, as they’ll also be able to bring guests along in the name of research!
Chelsey Wroe, Head of Sustainability at HEINEKEN UK™, commented: “We know how passionate Brits are about their locals, so we’re looking for seven individuals with a keen interest in sustainability to take that one step further and enjoy a closer look at the pubs featured in our inaugural Green Pub Guide. With 4 in 5[1] consumers changing their spending patterns based on an outlets’ sustainability credentials, we want to see what affect this choice has on pub-goers’ experiences, and that’s where our Green Pub Testers come in.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what potential candidates could bring to the role – and how those selected get on with their assignments!”
Candice Brown, 2016 winner of The Great British Bake Off, who has partnered with The Green Pub Guide powered by SmartDispense™, said: “This role is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for sustainably minded pub fans up and down the country. To be able to review these trailblazing pubs and see the green revolution in action (and get paid for it!) is an incredible opportunity and I can’t wait to see what they report back – I’ll definitely be looking for inspiration and ideas to take back to my own pub, The Green Man!”
Green Pub Tester hopefuls can apply now by sending the below to the following email address – GreenPubGuide@Cirkle.com
- A short statement (min. 100 words) on why you love ‘the Great British pub’ and why sustainability is important to you.
- A short video (30-120 seconds long) discussing your favourite pub memory/ies, shared via a private link on YouTube, Vimeo or your chosen social channel.
The special people will then work collaboratively with HEINEKEN SmartDispense™ to deliver their assignment videos which will be featured on the HEINEKEN SmartDispense™ website and across HEINEKEN UK’s social channels. To find out more on how to apply and about entry terms please see below.
The Green Pub Guide, which launched in August, showcases Britain’s top green venues and outlines the measures they’re taking to be more sustainable.
