Over half of Ashmole & Co’s staff braved the gale force winds and torrential rain last week to walk up Pen y Fan. The walk was organised to celebrate the firm’s 125th anniversary whilst raising vital funds for Wales Air Ambulance.

With thirteen offices spread across mid and south Wales, almost 60 staff and Partners from Ashmole & Co took on Pen y Fan, the highest peak in south Wales, situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Many had had little training and staff were of various fitness levels from Ironmen and marathon runners to those who prefer a much less active lifestyle.

Mark Gould, the longest serving Partner with Ashmole and Co said, “We are so proud of all the staff who battled with the wind and rain to walk up Pen y Fan. The conditions were horrendous but everyone knew that they were raising funds for such a fantastic cause. Everyone we speak to knows someone who has been helped by the Welsh Air Ambulance Service. Thank you to all those who have already sponsored us. It isn’t too late to help us raise as much money as possible for this extremely worthy charity.”

Any donations to support Ashmole & Co’s fundraising would be very gratefully received. Here is the link to the Just Giving page, or you can donate directly to any member of staff or at any office: Jim Cornock is fundraising for Wales Air Ambulance Charitable Trust (justgiving.com)

Katie Macro, Wales Air Ambulance Campaign Manager, said, “Well done to you all we are so grateful that you chose to support our charity on your 125th anniversary. Thanks to everyone involved.”

Kate added, “Wales Air Ambulance is funded by the people of Wales; we rely entirely on the public’s support to help keep the helicopters flying. The charity does not receive direct funding from the government and we also fail to qualify for National Lottery funding. The money is therefore raised through charitable donations, fundraising events and membership of our in-house Lifesaving Lottery.”
