Croeso Awards LYF Activity Provider of the Year 20th Oct 2022

The team at Dwr Cymru Welsh Water’s visitor attraction Llys-y-frân were overwhelmed to be awarded the ‘Activity/Experience Provider of the Year’ Croeso Award at last night’s inaugural Croeso Awards ceremony, held at Crug Glas in St David’s, organised by Visit Pembrokeshire.

Mark Hillary, Visitor Attraction Manager said ‘It’s been a difficult time for the tourism industry over the past two years and re-opening the site when the pandemic was still prevalent, was extremely challenging.  We’ve pulled together as a team and have managed to roll out activities across the site on land and on the water.’

Mark went on to say ‘This award is testament to the hard work and commitment that the team has shown. I am extremely proud of them; their drive and passion has enabled Llys-y-frân to become a successful visitor attraction, providing excellent customer service and memorable experiences. We are all looking forward to developing the offering at Llys-y-frân further, with events throughout the year and the addition of functions and wedding ceremonies and receptions in the visitor centre.’

It’s been a busy week for the team as they prepare for their inaugural Autumn Food & Drink Fair, taking place tomorrow 22nd October 10am – 4pm in the visitor centre. There’ll be twenty stalls showcasing their food and drink produce including cheese, spirits, cider, cakes, fudge, preserves and beach food. It’s free to enter, plus the café is open all day serving delicious hot drinks, cakes and lunch. The gift shop has expanded its range and now has some locally crafted products including throws, cushions, blankets, and lots of stocking fillers for those who want to make an early start on their Christmas shopping. Plans are afoot for a new campsite at Llys-y-frân, with installation in the pipeline for 2023. This will enhance the visitor offering with accommodation and activities all in one place.
