CETMA have been awarded funding from Electrical Safety First, to support the public and community with electrical safety promotion.

The funding will help promote electrical safety issues and enable the organisation to set up events in the community where the public can bring their electrical items for a free PAT test.

The project will run from December 2022 until March 2023 and Emyr Evans, Project officer said:

“We’re in a cost of living crisis and families are under pressure to deliver Christmas presents and heat the home this winter.”

“Therefore, more and more people will be looking online to buy second hand electrical goods at a price they can afford. However, people need to be careful about what they buy and not everything is the bargain it claims to be.”

Safety information will also be promoted via the Llanelli Standard newspaper, and online through the West Wales Chronicle, South Wales Chronicle, Llanelli Standard, Swansea Standard and Carmarthenshire Standard.

“We look forward to supporting the community with this project, and help as many people as possible between now and March 2023.”
