Conwy & Llandudno named among 10 most beautiful winter hotspots in the UK

With Christmas just around the corner, many people will be dreaming of spending the festive season in a picture-perfect village or town to soak up the wintry atmosphere.

To kick off the festivities, Stelrad (https://www.stelrad.com/) has revealed that Conwy is ranked among the 10 most picturesque wintry locations in the UK. To find this out, Stelrad created a list of 50 picturesque wintry villages and towns in the UK, creating a defined ranking based on hashtag data. 

So let’s step into Christmas and enjoy the UK’s most magical places to visit.

With a total of 236,902 hashtags, Conwy is the ninth best town or village to visit for those looking for a picturesque wintry break. 

Harrogate in North Yorkshire is a wintry favourite, taking first place with nearly 1 million Instagram hashtags

North Yorkshire has the most picturesque towns/villages to explore this Christmas with a total of 8 out of 50. Followed by Derbyshire with 4/50 and then Cumbria/Dorset with 3 out of 50 locations. 

If you’re looking for a festive visit or staycation, you have a choice between 34 towns and 16 villages.

Harrogate Town – West Yorkshire

The town of Harrogate is the most picturesque place in the UK to visit this Christmas, with a total of 960,722 hashtags on Instagram. You can experience the joys of Christmas here with their famous Christmas market, as well as their twinkly Christmas lights and an array of festive window displays. Harrogate also has the most hashtags for #harrogatechristmas at 1,285.

Shrewsbury Town – Shropshire

Coming in second place is the town of Shrewsbury with 742,127 Instagram hashtags. The Christmas magic certainly comes alive in this town, where you can indulge in mince pies and mulled wine. This is the perfect town to visit if you want to feel Christmassy and even has a direct line to the North Pole with its Christmas post box. 

Dover Town – Kent 

With an amazing Winter Light up happening on the first weekend of December, it’s no wonder that Dover comes in third place for the most picturesque town for Christmas with 648,336 Instagram hashtags. With a two-day Christmas celebration ready to kick off the festive period, Dover is definitely a place for those who love lights, a fire garden and a range of Christmas stalls.
