Etiquette tips regarding Christmas lights from Amit Juneja, Managing Director at The Christmas Workshop, below:

“Christmas should be a fun-filled, harmonious, and happy time for one and all – so if you’re planning on putting anything up that could ruffle neighbour’s feathers – we would suggest letting them know your plans and being flexible, where possible.

It’s good etiquette to consider your neighbours – especially when it comes to featuring lights and decorations outside your home. We recommend adopting a light turn-on-and-off agreement. So, how about agreeing to light them on a 4 pm-10 pm time zone?

We would also suggest opting for the most energy-efficient lights – which are LED. LED lights will still give a good amount of brightness but shouldn’t shine too bright through your neighbours windows or be off-putting for passers-by.”
