As boxing fans anticipate Jake Paul take on Tommy Fury this Sunday, a brand-new study released by findbettingsites.co.uk reveals which UK cities are the most obsessed with boxing.
The study reveals Wrexham is the fourth most obsessed city with boxing, with 2,649 searches per 100,000 people.
Landing in the top five in the study, Wrexham beats major UK cities including Manchester and Liverpool- despite having a significantly smaller population.
Liverpool places first, with 3,426 online searches per 100,000 people per month- a total of 16,600 per month.
Whilst Preston places second with 2,676 searches per 100,000 people.
The research by betting sites comparison site findbettingsites.co.uk analysed 60 major UK cities based on the number of times each city Googleâs search terms related to an interest in boxing.
Twenty-four relevant search terms were used in the study, such as âboxingâ, âboxing newsâ âboxing classes near meâ, âboxing scheduleâ, âtrain for a boxing matchâ and âjake paul vs tommy furyâ.
The number of searches for each term was then added up to give a total of searches for each city. This was then compared to the population to calculate how many searches per 100,000 people.
