Caerphilly County Borough has started the countdown for the first Pride Caeffili event.
There are only 100 days left until Pride Caerffili, a day-long celebration taking place in Caerphilly town centre, from 12pm-7pm on Saturday 24th June 2023.
The event is the first of its kind to take place in Caerphilly County Borough and visitors can expect a family-friendly event, recognising and celebrating the contributions made by LGBTQ+ people in our society.
On the day, there will be live music and entertainment including the award-winning drag queen Miss Tina Sparkle, along with activities from local comprehensive schools and youth services. The day will also include an iconic Pride Parade.
The parade is due to set off from St Martin’s School, Caerphilly at 12pm, making its way down through the town, looping around the Twyn Carpark area where it will finish.
Councillor Carol Andrews, Cabinet Member for Education & Communities and LGBTQ+ Champion said: “We are very excited to be nearing the date of our first ever Pride Caerffili. The day promises to be a fun-filled celebration of our LGBTQ+ community in Caerphilly County Borough.”
