Fresh Start Surgical Gifts Tees Off to Change Lives,

Presenting 31^st Annual Celebrity Golf Hosted by Longtime Supporter Alfonso Ribeiro

Nationally recognized nonprofit, Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, is gearing up for an exciting day on the green during its 31^st Annual Celebrity Golf Classic hosted by actor and longtime supporter Alfonso Ribeiro on March 26 and 27 at Morgan Run Club & Resort in Rancho Santa Fe. This is one of the nonprofit’s premier fundraising events, and all funds raised go toward their mission of transforming the lives of many children and their families across the country.

Last year, the event in San Diego raised a record-breaking $300,000, with each Golf Classic selling out continuously over the past 12 years. The star-studded, two-day event will be filled with celebrity golf, games, delicious food and drinks and a live and silent auction. Every foursome, no matter what level sponsorship plays with a celebrity.

Fresh Start is the beneficiary of two signature celebrity golf tournaments. The annual golf tournaments raise funds focused on transforming the lives of children suffering from physical and cosmetic deformities caused by birth defects, accidents, abuse or disease. The early spring event in San Diego will be hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, best known for his roles on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” Ribeiro is a longtime supporter of Fresh Start Surgical Gifts and has raised $3.3 million for medical programs since he started supporting Fresh Start. Another Celebrity Golf Event will also take place in Chicago this June, hosted by Jermaine Dye, White Sox MVP.

“Many years ago, I saw with my own eyes the lifechanging work of Fresh Start Surgical Gifts and their entire team of doctors, staff and volunteers,” Ribeiro said. “I could see what Fresh Start had done to change the course of these children’s lives, and I knew immediately I had to not only become involved, but to help do what I can to spread their mission.”

The event begins with an online auction at 8:00 a.m. Friday, March 24, followed by a dinner reception and silent and live auction on Sunday, March 26 featuring VIP passes to the members only Magic Castle in Hollywood and a dinner for 8 by celebrity chef Lauren Lawless and finally, the tournament on Monday, March 27. The Celebrity Golf portion of the tournament will begin after registration, with breakfast burritos and a bloody Mary bar and then a putting contest, followed by a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Following the tournament, is an exciting awards ceremony with all attendees.

EDCO Disposal Corporation will serve as Title Sponsor for the event, marking well over 20 years of support for Fresh Start Surgical Gifts. The Hole in One Sponsor this year is San Diego Audi. Another longtime sponsor present at this year’s event is Dowling and Yahnke.
