Last Saturday, the 25th of March, saw Ystrad Town Centre transform for the second Spring Fair of 2023.

The town centre welcomed an outstanding 8,247 visitors with 1,302 being the peak attendance at 1pm. There were 6,511 more visitors in town compared to the previous Saturday, making it the busiest day of the year so far. This year’s Spring Fair also beat the footfall of 2022’s Spring event.

At the fair were several food and craft stalls, entertainment, and children’s fair rides, making it a fun filled day out for all who attended. The town centre, retailers, and the community were hugely benefitted by the positivity the event brought.

Hear what local businesses thought about the event:

Independent business, Memories, said “Good community spirit, ticked all the boxes, lovely for the kids, the petting zoo and pantomime were very popular.”

Noel’s Family Butchers, commented “Great day, busier than normal, town was really busy.”

Ystrad Mynach Library said, “The Knit and Natter craft stall in the library did exceptionally well and raised over £180 for charity!”

Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration & Climate Change, also commented “Another busy event and positive business feedback. The residents really came out in numbers once again. More events, with an emphasis on driving people to town centres, will help to support the business community. Can I thank everyone for their support”.

Save the date for our next event, Caerphilly Food Festival, taking place on Saturday 29th of April.
