Wales Rugby League Men’s side will begin their European Championship campaign later this year with a trip to Spain.
John Kear’s team start group B against the Spaniards (October 21 or 22), with a visit to Italy a week later (October 28 or 29). Wales conclude with a home tie against France, the top seeds in the group (November 4 or 5). Wales’ last win against France came in Cardiff in 2015, on the way to lifting the European crown for the seventh time.
The winners of the group will face the top ranked side in group A in the European Championship final on the weekend of November 11-12. Group A consists of top seeds England, alongside Ireland, Scotland and Serbia.
The tournament will also act as a route to the 2025 World Cup, which France qualify for as hosts. The highest placed of the remaining three teams in group B will automatically qualify for the World Cup, with the remaining two teams entering an additional qualifying process in 2024.
