As Easter approaches, new research reveals Walesâ top choices for Easter Sunday lunch include a roast dinner, steak and BBQ.
Commissioned by Sainsburyâs, the survey looks at the nationâs Easter food preferences and across the UK found:
⢠Roast dinner rules for 51% celebrating Easter
⢠Fish pie, fried chicken and pizza are among top alternatives for the remaining 49%
⢠1 in 3 roast lovers choose lamb, with chicken and beef top runners-up
⢠77% find food elevates Easter, but 51% are looking to save money this year
⢠Gen Z is experimental:
o 25% choose hot sauce or BBQ sauce to garnish their Easter roast
o 1 in 5 enjoy baked beans, bread or black pudding on the side
Data for Wales shows:
⢠76% say food adds joy to their Easter celebrations
⢠46% of those in Wales didnât know lamb was the traditional meat eaten on Easter Sunday, more than any other region of the UK
⢠10% would top their Easter roast with BBQ sauce, with 10% also opting for cheese sauce
Sainsburyâs is helping to maximise joy this Easter by offering great value, whatever consumers are eating this Easter – whether you like lamb, beef or pizza, prefer hot or BBQ sauce, and even if you want to top your roast with baked beans.
