Llancaiach Fawr are celebrating two prestigious awards from Visit Wales.
The historic visitor attraction in Caerphilly recently won both the Visit Wales ‘Best Told Story 2023 / 24’ and the new category ‘Quality Food and Drink 2023 / 24 accolades, awarded by VAQAS,(the Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service), following a mystery shopper visit by representatives of the tourism industry regulatory body.
The site was praised for its well organised gift shop, excellent café / restaurant menu, using locally sourced ingredients and the outstanding knowledge of the Historical Interpreters who guide visitors around the manor dressed and in character as the servants of Colonel Pritchard who like nothing better than to cease their duties and gossip about the master and mistress, bringing history to life!
Deputy Minister for Arts and Sports, Dawn Bowden, said: “I’d like to congratulate the team at Llancaich Fawr for their hard work in achieving this recognition from Visit Wales – and providing visitors with a first-class experience which also brings our history and culture to life. I hope that people will take time over the Easter Holidays to experience Llanciach Fawr.”
Lesley Edwards, General Manager commented, “We are so pleased to be recognised for the unique customer experience we provide”.
Cllr Jamie Pritchard, the Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member with responsibility for Tourism added, “I am delighted that our much loved visitor attraction, Llancaiach Fawr Manor, has received the recognition it deserves”.
