New research reveals social media’s highest-earning TV real estate and home improvement stars.
The research, conducted by real estate experts Agent Advice, examined the social media profiles of every TV personality from a real estate or home improvement show and used Influencer Marketing Calculator to establish which star has the most influential social media presence and how much they can earn per sponsored Instagram post.
The research revealed that Joanna Gaines is the highest-earning TV real estate or home improvement star on social media. Joanna is best known for her role on the American show Fixer Upper, which followed husband and wife team Chip and Joanna as they renovated homes in Waco, Texas. The designer and entrepreneur could earn an estimated £45,329 per sponsored post on Instagram due to her immense follower count of 13.7 million.
Co-host of Fixer Upper and husband of Joanna, Chip Gaines, ranks second. The contractor and entrepreneur has the second-highest Instagram following of 5.1 million, allowing him to earn an estimated potential of £13,741 per sponsored post on Instagram.
The research revealed that Christine Quinn is the third highest-earning real estate TV star. The breakout star of Netflix’s hugely popular Selling Sunset has an Instagram following of 4.1 million, the third-highest follower count in the ranking, which means the real estate agent could earn up to £11,116 for a single sponsored Instagram post.
The fourth highest-earning real estate star on social media is Chrishell Stause. The actress and Selling Sunset star can expect to earn up to an estimated £9,695 per sponsored Instagram post due to her 3.6 million followers and also has the second-highest engagement rate in the ranking, with 2.97%.
Heather Rae Young can expect to earn up to an estimated £8,145 per sponsored Instagram post, making her the fifth highest-earning real estate TV star. The Selling Sunset star has three million followers on Instagram and an engagement rate of 4.09% – the highest rate in the ranking – making her Instagram account ideal for sponsorship deals. Heather’s husband, Tarek El Moussa, also features in the ranking, placing 15th overall. The real estate investor found fame with the launch of the American HGTV series Flip or Flop and can expect to earn up to £3,473 per sponsored Instagram post.
The sixth highest-earning star is Jonathan Scott. As one-half of the Property Brothers, Jonathan has 2.6 million followers on Instagram, allowing him to earn an estimated £7,118 per sponsored post. Following closely behind is the other half of the Property Brothers, Drew Scott, who ranks seventh. Drew has an Instagram following of 2.5 million, which allows him to earn up to £6,651 per sponsored post. Outside of their TV show, the Canadian brothers have authored several books, founded Scott Brothers Entertainment, and even developed the Property Brothers Home Design app.
The top ten is rounded out with Selling Sunset cast members Mary Fitzgerald ranking in eighth place and Emma Hernan in ninth, followed by Christina Hall in tenth place.
