Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended Swansea Pride on Saturday, 29th April and what a day it was!

It was wonderful to see so many people get involved, coming together to celebrate diversity and show support to the LGBTQ+ community.

There was a wide variety of entertainment on throughout the day, from the Pride parade, musicians, drag queens and so much more. The day was full of colour, fun and laughter and the atmosphere was electric from start to finish.

MAWWFRS were honoured to be a part of the day, providing lots of safety information to the crowds, and we got to showcase our newly wrapped fire engine as well as Sbarc, the Service mascot making an appearance too!

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Craig Flannery said: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that was involved to make the day the success it was. A wonderful experience and a great opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and embrace the LGBTQ+ community.”

As a service, we’re committed to identifying, understanding, and eliminating all barriers that prevent access to services, information, and employment. We actively support underrepresented members of our communities to overcome disadvantage, by promoting equality of opportunity and promoting diversity.

We are already looking forward to celebrating at Swansea Pride in 2024.
