Two Action for Children supporters have taken on the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge within 24 hours and raised £1,576.25 for the charity’s Swansea Young families support service.
Sian Bamford from Swansea and Nicky Sneezum from Cwmbran tackled the fearsome challenge to raise money and awareness for the vital work Action for Children does for young families in Swansea.
The service provides housing-related support in the home to young parents and expectant parents, aged 16-25, and their children.
Sian and Nicky said: ‘We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and the challenge. Thankfully the weather was kind so we saw some truly spectacular sights. It was a tough day, but we were so pleased to have managed to complete all three peaks. We are grateful to all who gave so generously, supporting us, and Action For Children’.
Hannah Leek, Action for Children’s fundraising support officer in South Wales, added: ‘Without the support of our dedicated community and Facebook family we wouldn’t be able to help the families that rely on each of our services each and every day! Thank you so much Sian and Nicky – you’re both super stars and we are so grateful for your support!’
