Lovell Homes' Locke Gardens development in Newport

Leading developerĀ Lovell HomesĀ is bringing luxury to Llanwern in Newport, by providing a range of traditional homes at its popularĀ Locke GardensĀ development.

Locke Gardens is situated off Baldwin Drive, on the former Llanwern steelworks. The development consists of a stunning range of 286 two, three and four-bedroom homes, which are more than ideal for first-time buyers and those looking to ā€˜rightsizeā€™, from growing families to homeowners looking to move to a more manageable property.Ā

Lovell Homes has carefully designed Locke Gardens with placemaking values in mind, to make sure it is a vibrant community that residents can be proud to call home, and much more than just bricks and mortar.

Joseph Underwood, technical manager at Lovell Homes, said: ā€œAll the homes at Locke Gardens are designed around a central philosophy of traditional-looking homes, utilising external finishes of red and buff brick and off-white rough cast render.

ā€œThere is one consistent, traditional architectural character across the site, creating a development that is unique and distinctive.ā€

Each style of home has a unique colour front door, with the shades chosen from a heritage colour palette and contrasting black ironmongery and door numbering, which adds a pop of colour and extra character to the development. Large, deep windows are installed to allow for plenty of natural light, whilst some house types, such as the three-bedroom Milford, benefit from bay windows.

The properties are finished off with tiled window sills, large door canopies and decorative brick detailing in the gables. A distinctive roofscape is provided by utilising hipped and gabled roofs throughout.

Locke Gardens is also home to an abundance of greenery, as the homes feature front gardens with hedge boundaries and street trees, providing residents with an ecologically-enhanced environment.

Five local areas of play, specially-designed for children aged under six years old, can be found dotted around the site, and one local equipped area for play is situated in the southwest corner, providing children who live on Locke Gardens with a fenced area to play in right outside their doorstep.

The development is bordered by woodland and two rivers, Julianā€™s Reen and Ellen Reen, and benefits from a cycle path running through the middle.

Suzie Hewitt, regional sales director at Lovell Homes, said: ā€œWe couldnā€™t be prouder of our homes at Locke Gardens. Each home style has been beautifully designed in a way that makes them stand out amongst other properties in the area.

ā€œAs signatories of the Placemaking Wales Charter, we put placemaking and people at the heart of all our developments and pride ourselves on creating new, thriving communities which people can feel proud to call home.

ā€œOur stunning, traditional homes at Locke Gardens are proving incredibly popular, so we would encourage anyone who is interested to get in touch with our friendly sales team without delay, and come and visit us on site.ā€
