With train strikes set to take place tomorrow, many will find more traffic on the road as both commuters and visitors get around. Richard Evans, head of technical services at webuyanycar comments;

“As train strikes take place tomorrow, it’s expected that we’ll see more traffic on the roads as more commuters have no choice but to get behind the wheel. Longer commute times can lead to higher fuel consumption and with our research showing two thirds of drivers (66%) have felt the impact of rising fuel prices, they’ll be looking to save wherever possible.

“There are a few ways drivers can keep consumption down whilst getting around during the strikes. By removing any excess weight, it stops the vehicle using more fuel when driving. It is also important drivers check their tyre pressure, as having the incorrect level can cause a drag on the wheel which has a knock-on effect on the amount of fuel being used.
