Dear Editor

Net zero madness

When will the madness stop – the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ race for net zero will unquestionably drive the UK economy into the ground. I wonder if Just Stop Oil protesters and the misguided supporters of large scale wind and solar farms are aware of the recent research by The  Underfloor Heating Store, that claim we have the sixth most expensive energy tariff in the world – my electricity costs have doubled to an eye-watering 32p/kWh; it is claimed the most expensive is in the Soloman Islands, in the Pacific Ocean, at 56p/kWh with neighbouring Vanuata paying 48p/kWh – but at least they can enjoy the climate and can get by on mimimal electricity usage – pina calado anyone!

If our myopic and incompetent government gave the OK for fracking we could have the lowest energy bills in Europe, and with our new found wealth could easily pay for orbital power stations that will offer 24 hour environmentally friendly electricity. This is not science fiction any more and surely the most cerebral challenged MP will be conscious of the fact that we have had commercial TV from orbit for over 30 years now. Both Power and TV transmission employ the electromagnetic spectrum, so do your research dear reader and learn how you are being totally manipulated and exploited. In the meantime fracking is the key to a more environmentally friendly future, simply because we just cannot dump fossil fuels overnight without a complete collapse of our technological dependent society – realising of course, that nuclear fusion is the holy grail of power generation.
