The biggest summer festival in the UK, Glastonbury, with a capacity of 200,000 people has clamped down on the rules of disposable vapes, banning festival-goers from bringing them in amid fears they’re causing environmental damage.

Neil Mclaren CMO at vaping.com agrees that the disposable issue needs to be addressed and Glastonbury’s stance on the matter highlights the mutual frustration of how as a country we are dealing with the recycling of disposable vapes.

Full statement for editorial release:

“Whilst this is a bold move – it doesn’t go nearly far enough to include the banning of cigarettes, which not only are known to be 95% more harmful than vaping, hold real dangers of second-hand smoke unique to combustible cigarettes, but are known to be the world’s most littered item with around 4.5 trillion butts being tossed each year!

If Glastonbury were brave enough to ban cigarettes too, they really would be doing their attendants a favour – especially as a family-friendly event.

For any vapers stumped by this news and worrying about the risk of going back to cigarettes in desperation over Glastonbury festival, vaping.com recommend the more environmentally friendly alternative of re-usable pod devices with refillable e-liquid – just remember to recycle your vape juice bottles once finished with them!”
