The team at Hensol Castle Distillery have teamed up with Jenny Griffiths and Philip David of Distill + Fill, who are being announced as on-trade ambassadors for the award-winning Hensol Castle Gin, distilled in the cellars of Grade-I listed Hensol Castle.
For over 13 years, Jenny has been a driving force in the UK’s vibrant drinks industry, discovering her passion for mixology while tending bars in Cardiff. The allure of the capital city soon beckoned, and she embarked on an exciting journey as a London bartender, dazzling partygoers in some of the city’s most beloved neighbourhood bars, including Heads + Tails and Croque Monsieur.
Jenny’s foray into the world of brands commenced with her appointment as a brand ambassador for Chartreuse, the world’s oldest liqueur. Throughout her tenure, she travelled the UK, sharing her unwavering passion for this exceptional elixir and introducing bartenders to the rich flavours found in its more than 130 ingredients.
Following her time with Chartreuse, Jenny’s path led her into the realm of mixers, where she assumed a leadership role as the head of sales at Sekforde drinks.
Philip’s passion for coffee led him to embark on a journey behind the stick at Café Mambo, Swansea, in 2004. It was here that he honed the fundamental skills that later guided him to Cardiff and eventually set him on a thrilling adventure across New Zealand, Europe, and the United States, before ultimately returning to the UK. Renowned for his mesmerising Tiki bar theatrics and agave-fueled events, Philip’s expertise has graced the bars of esteemed establishments like Balthazar London, London Cocktail Club, and Callooh Callay Chelsea, where he delivered unforgettable classics.
In 2007, Philip laid the foundation for Welsh Bartenders—a thriving community catering to bartenders, bar managers, and bar owners. Over the years, this remarkable initiative has flourished into the largest and most vibrant hospitality community in Wales, fostering connections and camaraderie among industry professionals
In 2021, DISTILL + FILL was founded by the duo, offering training, consultancy and ready-to-serve cocktails.
The pair are now on-trade ambassadors for Hensol Castle Distillery, which will see the three award-winning gins being distributed across South Wales, allowing venues access to a great range of locally made products.
The three flavours currently available are: Welsh Dry Gin (41% ABV), Blood Orange Zest Gin (40% ABV) and Wild Strawberry & Hibiscus Gin (40% ABV).
Jenny Griffiths, Sales Ambassador, commented:
“Having worked with Hensol for the last year with our RTS cocktails, we are excited to expand our relationship with the team. We are delighted to join the team at Hensol Castle Distillery and look forward to sharing our passion for spirits and cocktails with venues across South Wales.”
Chris Leeke, Managing Director of www.hensolcastledistillery.com, said:
“As a gin distiller, we admire the work of both Jenny and Philip and are thrilled to be teaming up with DISTILL + FILL to help get our gin in the hands of gin lovers and cocktail fans throughout Wales. This follows our recent announcement that we’ve just been stocked in over 30 ASDA stores throughout Wales and will shortly be available in Morrisons stores around Wales too.”
