Set in the tranquil surroundings of Piercefield Park, on the outskirts of Chepstow, The Green Gathering, from 3rd ā 6th August 2023, demonstrates how to enjoy life to the full without harming the planet.
The Green Gathering is not just a music, arts, wellness or food festival ā it is all of these things and more.Ā With sustainability at its core, the gathering has grown and evolved to become a multi-faceted wonder; every festival-goer can find something exciting and magical that touches and inspires them within its green fields.
The festival team has curated a perfect blend of entertainment, fun and silly things to see and do, alongside a packed programme of workshops, talks, debates, skill sharing and opportunities to exchange ideas.Ā Ā
Discover how learning traditional skills and crafts can enhance your life, taking the best from the past and applying it to the future.Ā Explore new ways to view the world, combining the latest innovations with time-honoured lore to create a better, fairer life for all.Ā Ā
Reconnect with the earth on a nature walk (with surprises along the way) or visit the Permaculture Area to hang out with mushroom farmers, beekeepers and forest gardeners.Ā Discover the joy of singing and dancing together, the magic and medicine of herbs and the wisdom of ancient tales and take time out for a bit of self-care, relaxation and healing.
For sheer pleasure, don your party clothes and visit the array of solar powered stages to take in the best of grassroots music, conscious cabaret and foot-stomping dance beats.Ā Then round off the evening by a campfire with friends old and new.Ā Ā
For mini green gatherers, the festival is bursting with safe spaces and adventurous places for young people ā with chances to explore, learn, play and perform. Ā Thereās a large central Childrenās Garden with shady trees and grassy lawns to run around in, surrounded by tents filled with activities and kidsā hang-outs.Ā Thereās a Teens Space offering circus skills, crafts, music and games and tons of child-friendly activities all over site.Ā Ā
And keep an eye out for āHappeningsā ā those fabulous things that donāt fit neatly into a programme line upā¦ those things that happen and bring unexpected deep joy or cause uncontrollable laughter.Ā Happenings to surprise and delight include circle dance; interactive comedy, The Nonsense Yoga Show; family theatre in the Enchanted Woods and sock wrestling on the Village Green.
