Considering the street food hype, new research from loveholidays reveals the most popular destinations for street food enthusiasts based on social engagements.

Great Britain takes the top spot followed by Italy and France.
Food is one of the best parts of travel and whilst dining at restaurants is a great way to sample new dishes, it seems that today, travellers from all over the world are taking to the streets to get their hands on local cuisine.
With global searches1 for ‘Street food 2023’ increasing by +3,329% over the last year and the TikTok hashtag2 #StreetFood receiving over 31.4 billion views, online travel agent, loveholidays has revealed 2023’s most popular street food destinations* to help foodies decide on their next trip.

Home to cities including London, Bristol and Manchester that are favoured for their street food spots, Great Britain takes the crown as the most popular destination for street food enthusiasts. With TikTok being a popular platform for travel and food inspiration, the hashtag #streetfooduk has received 183,900 views2 as people engage with the latest UK foodie content.
Coming in second is Italy which is no surprise given the country is well-known for many culinary delights including white-base pizza, arancini and of course, gelato. In fact, #streetfooditalia has received 6.2 million TikTok views2.
Taking the third spot is France, famous for foods including croque monsieur and delicious crêpes. Looking at the hype across TikTok for street food in France, #frenchstreetfood has 105,700 views2.
Looking outside the top 10 other popular locations for street food include Sweden (103,225), Romania (85,890) and Portugal (81,777).

Street food is a great way to sample local cuisine and is often a cheaper way to dine out.
